Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules

Sometimes it can feel overwhelming trying to keep up with the latest innovations in skincare, but if it’s one thing I am certain of, it is that everyone is talking about the powerful benefits of retinol. As much as I wanted to jump on the retinol bandwagon, I wasn’t quite sure how to choose which product to use, what percentage of retinol is good for my skin, and to be honest, I was worried it would make my skin sensitive or inflamed. Thankfully, Elizabeth Arden came to the rescue with their newest launch and one that I am almost sure everyone is going to be talking about; Retinol Ceramide Capsules.

For the last few years, I have been using Elizabeth Arden’s iconic Advanced Ceramide Capsules in the mornings, as they leave my skin feeling smooth, hydrated and healthy-looking. The gold capsules have been formulated to focus on repairing the skin’s barrier, while also increasing moisture within the surface of the skin and minimizing early signs of aging. So, when I saw their pretty new rose-gold capsules which contain retinol, I knew I had to try them!

The Benefits of Retinol

Retinol is a powerful active ingredient which is known to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles, while also improving skin texture, tone and boosting your skin’s natural radiance. In addition, it has also been found to minimize large pores and reduce age spots and discolouration. The problem is that retinol is really sensitive to light and air which causes it to become unstable when exposed. So, to overcome this problem, Elizabeth Arden put their retinol formula in a capsule, making it 76% more potent than any unencapsulated retinol and ensuring you get the full benefit from every application.

My Experience

I personally love the convenience of Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Capsules; it takes the guesswork out of figuring out what my skin needs and means that I don’t have to worry about combining several serums with the hopes of waking up with healthy-looking skin. The texture of the new Retinol serum is super silky and lightweight on the skin but is a little thicker than the Advanced Ceramide Capsules, which I use in the mornings.

It’s been a month since I started using the Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules and I am loving the results. Although early signs of aging is not a primary concern of mine, retinol does target several other concerns and has especially helped improve my skin’s texture, tone and overall dryness.

I had anticipated that my skin might go through a transitional period (history has taught me to prepare for the worst) but I was surprised to find that my skin soaked the serum right up without experiencing any sensitivity or unusual break-outs. In fact, I found that when I did have my usual hormonal breakout, my skin seemed to heal and bounce back faster than before, which I believe had a lot to do with the Retinol Ceramide Capsules.

It’s important to remember that the Retinol Ceramide Capsules do not replace the Advanced Ceramide Capsules. In fact, they have been formulated to compliment one another, each providing different benefits that work well together. The gold Advanced Ceramide Capsules are used in the mornings and help provide daily support to your skin while the new rose-gold Retinol Ceramide Capsules are used at night and help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, texture and tone. Together, they have the power to unlock all your skin goals with skin that is healthy, glowing and more youthful.

What is astonishing to me is just how soon you begin to see results! Within a week of consistently using the new Retinol Ceramide Capsules, I found my skin was looking brighter, smoother and healthier. Now, a month into my trial, I find my skin is plumper and more radiant, my pores have shrunk (especially around my nose) while the texture around my chin and hairline has improved and allows for a smoother makeup application.
