BOOST Your Skin with BOOST! Skin Serum

Recently Rubybox contacted me with the opportunity to review a skincare serum from a new brand that is soon to launch in South Africa. With very little knowledge about the product, I signed up and explained that I suffer from dehydrated skin that is prone to break-outs. Before long, two BOOST! Skin Serums were delivered for me to trial for the next 2-3 weeks.

BOOST! Skin Serums was developed by South African Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon Prof. Tim Christofides and has been designed to fit in with your current skincare routine. Unlike most skincare serums, BOOST! is affordable (R299 – R349) and is now available for purchase online, with free shipping!

Facial serums are lightweight formulas containing higher concentrations of active ingredients that penetrate the skin. They are usually water-based, so they play nicely with other skincare products and makeup and are less likely to cause a skin irritation or breakout.

BOOST! Skin Serums have introduced 6 different serums to suit your skin’s needs. They can be used separately or conveniently mixed together to target several skincare concerns at a time, and then applied to your skin or added to a moisturizer, facial mask or even foundation (depending on the ingredients).  I personally prefer to mix my serums in with my moisturizer or gel-face mask, after cleansing and exfoliating my skin, for the best results.

BOOST’s impressive range of serums includes:

GLOW: A serum for dull and environmentally damaged skin.

CLEAR: A serum for oily and problematic skin.

CALM: A serum for irritated, and stressed skin.

ENERGIZE: A serum for dehydrated and tired skin.

QUENCH: A serum for severely dry skin.

SMOOTH: A serum for poor texture and fine lines.

BOOST! Skin Serum - By Megan KellyI was sent Clear and Quench to decongest skin that is problematic and prone to breaking out while improving cellular hydration levels. Click here to learn more about the range. Each Serum is packaged in a silver bottle, with a nifty mechanism that works as a dropper to dispense the serum. The packaging is hygienic, prevents spillage and feels high-end.

After 2-3 weeks of using the BOOST! Skin Serums I have noticed that my skin feels plump and soft, despite the change of season and sitting in an air-conditioned room all day long. The skin around my chin and nose experienced a mild breakout which I believe was the Clear serum working to decongest clogged pores.

I am prone to dehydrated skin, so love to include hyaluronic acid in my skincare routine to combat dryness and leave skin feeling plump and hydrated. I feel that everyone can benefit from a hydrating serum –  it helps improve the appearance and texture of your skin and find that even makeup applies better! BOOST’s Quench serum retails at an affordable R329, which is especially impressive when compared to my usual serum that costs more than R1,300.

Overall, I think that BOOST! is a great addition to the South African market, is easy to add to your current skincare regimen and works to target your unique skin concerns. For more information on BOOST! Skin Serums, visit their website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
