30 Oct Online Shopping for Breastfeeding Moms in South Africa
Following the success of my last online shopping guide, I thought that I’d write a piece featuring some of my favourite local online shops that sell clothing that is breastfeeding-friendly. With a new baby and toddler in tow, it is even more unlikely that you’ll find me shopping in-store, so I have been heavily relying on online shopping for the convenience. Thankfully, breastfeeding moms are spoilt for choice and have a wide selection of local favourites to shop from.
Lonzi & Bean
As you have probably gathered by now, I love wearing dresses but when I had Axl it was nearly impossible to find dresses that were breastfeeding-friendly, that’s when I first discovered Lonzi & Bean. I fell in-love with their clothing that is both flattering and practical, designed to last during pregnancy, nursing and thereafter. The locally produced brand went on to win my heart by also offering a plus-size range which looks regal. Their range, without a doubt, is designed to leave you feeling glorious about yourself and includes a variety of dresses, tops, skirts and leggings to easily make up your maternity capsule wardrobe – they were also kind enough to send me one of their Ultimum Dresses, so keep an eye out for a future review and feature. (Spoiler: I love-love the cut of their dress, it is so flattering and gives me loads of confidence!)

Having a baby is expensive business, so it can be a little stressful when you need to spend money on expanding your own wardrobe to include some key items that are made for breastfeeding. For nursing clothes that are practical and affordable, there’s Hannah Grace. They have a wonderful variety of dresses, vests, yoga pants and even scarves, making your breastfeeding journey just a little easier and budget-friendly. I am especially loving their jumpsuit and dresses that would make for great summer essentials.

Sophie & Jane
You might have seen on Twitter, just how much I hate shopping for nursing bras – why are they so ugly, uncomfortable and frumpy? Thankfully, a few months ago, I stumbled upon an Instagram page called Sophie and Jane, offering the most phenomenal nursing bras in the widest range of colours, designs and styles. I honestly thought that it was a requirement that all nursing bras look hideous and that by choosing to nurse your baby, you also have to give up your love for pretty underwear. I want to feel beautiful, empowered and maybe even sexy, damn it! Well, fear the frump no more! Sophie and Jane are bound to have a nursing bra that’s perfect for you!

Anneen Henze makes me want to pull out my tea set, put on my best dress and host a fancy party. Her luxury line of maternity and nursing clothes are designed with functionality in mind, while keeping up with trends. I first noticed pieces of her range popping up in Winter and was blown away by how gorgeous each of her pieces were. Her latest summer range does not disappoint and offers a variety of dresses that come in beautiful styles and soft colours, proving to be timeless while leaving new and expecting moms feeling beautiful in each of her designs.

I am the blogger behind By Megan Kelly, mom of two boys, named Axl (5-years old) and Eli (1-year old), and local business owner of Dr. Design. I live on copious amounts of coffee, work as a community manager and digital marketer, and spend my free time listening to podcasts and bible journalling. I also enjoy baking fresh treats for my family, exploring our local city, and looking for new family-friendly places for our kids to enjoy. On the weekends, you’ll likely find me shouting at the soccer and showing my support for Tottenham, while pretending to know what I am doing in the Fantasy League. I can be bribed with chocolate and will never admit to having too much makeup – although, I probably do.
