11 Aug [CLOSED] sOIL Aromatherapy
When I was a little girl, I suffered from really bad eczema on the inside of my elbows and would often have bad sores due to an allergy to dust mites and mosquitoes. We tried just about everything from cortisone to natural remedies, to moving houses and washing my linen often! One day, my gran gave me a small tub of tea-tree cream and it was the start of an incredible relationship. Tea-Tree oil has a long list of benefits and it has gotten to a point that if someone says they have an ache or pain – I pretty much follow up with, “Get the tea-tree oil!” In fact, it has been dubbed, ‘first-aid’ in a bottle.
Needless to say that when I discovered sOIL’s Treemendus range it was no surprise that I was sold on buying the entire range which even includes shampoo and conditioner! Right off the bat, I was impressed by how well priced their products are and settled on just the body wash and cream, to trying some of their other ranges too.
The body wash has just the perfect hint of peppermint oil which works hand in hand with the tea-tree oil to soothe irritated skin (perfect for that summer sunburn), it also helps improve acne and is a great anti-septic treatment. I found the bodywash and cream to be gentle enough for the kiddo, too! The body cream, which was a tad too runny, contains tea tree oil (duh!) and rose geranium which repairs, protects and soothes your skin. The base lotion is shea butter, known to nourish skin, leaving it feeling and looking soft and healthy!
With all the stress from the recent events, I have returned to my high school days of getting a debilitating migraine around 12pm or so. For about a week, I was off my feet and spent much of my day lying on the couch, covering my face from any light. It’s a tough position to be in, especially when you have no choice but to work from 5pm and be a mom, full-time. I couldn’t adult. Luckily, my delivery arrived from sOIL, which included their remedy rollers. I put the ‘relax‘ roller to the test, by rolling the lavender scented oil on my temples, inner wrist, collar bone and anywhere else that I may get a hint of the scent (it is a lovely smell that I could never get enough of!) Within 20 minutes, my tension headache had completely gone and I was left feeling relaxed and ready to conquer. The ‘relief‘ roller is also great for bites and itchies. As mentioned, I am allergic to mosquitoes and dustmites so when I get bitten, I break out in little blisters which are exceptionally itchy, I have found in recent weeks that I have been reaching more and more for this little guy, which helps soothe and treat cuts, bites and scratches. Personally, these were my favourite finds from the sOIL online store. I love how handy they are, they pack a polite punch and the packaging allows for you to have one in your handbag, gymbag, desk drawer and bedside table. You can pick up the entire range of remedy rollers for just R75 which also includes the ‘revive‘ roller, really great for the afternoon slump, clearing your mind and leave you feeling fresh and alert.
Another part of the store, which I found difficult not to purchase just about everything, is the blended oils which are perfect for massages. This impressive range features the perfect blend of oils targeted at athletes, babies, preggy moms (stretch marks), toning, winding down or lifting up. I opted for the ‘relax‘ blend which I found a few uses for like late night baths and baby massages before bedtime. I really just love the gentle aroma of oils that were proven very effective, especially when I practiced breathing exercises. As you know, with aromatherapy oils you use such a little, so the 100ml bottle is still going strong and only costs R95. It takes the guess work out of trying to figure out which oils work well together and saves you money from buying the 15ml bottles of each oil to create a blend. If you practically drink massage oils (or own a spa) you can get the 500ml variant too.
sOIL’s online store features some of the best aromatherapy products that I have ever come across from soy massage candles, natural bath and body products to blends of oils or pure oils to create your own. I struggle finding these sorts of things in PE so the convenience of having it all delivered to my front door, makes it all the more worthwhile. Their site is user friendly and easy to navigate through, plus you receive free delivery on orders over R300.
sOIL have been so kind to sponsor a prize for one of my readers. You could win a R300 Gift voucher to shop their online store and wind down with their incredible range of aromatherapy products. All you need to do is follow the steps in the Raffle Copter below.
