I had long since given up on my search for a BB Cream when a few beauty bloggers and I had gotten into a discussion via Twitter. Some had recommended and swore by Sorbet’s BB Cream instead of my usual foundation picking, and when Sorbet noticed our conversation, they very kindly sent us all a BB Cream to try for ourselves.
It’s been months since I first started using Sorbet’s BB Cream and I can confirm that I have been converted. I have always just worn foundation but would often find myself wishing for something lightweight that I can wear daily, without leaving me with the typical “heavy” foundation feeling.
BB Creams aren’t really my thing because the coverage just never seems enough. I have some scarring on my face, a few dark marks and go through periods where I have red patches, so it’s important (for my confidence) that I wear something that sort of evens that out. I have this thing that I either get completely glammed up, or I look like a complete slob with unbrushed hair. Thankfully, finding Sorbet’s BB Cream has landed me somewhat in the middle which is great for my day to day errands and appointments.
Sorbet’s BB Cream is designed for daily use and leaves skin feeling moisturized – which is fab when you have dry skin, like me. Like most BB Creams, it is multi-functional and works to provide your skin with low to medium coverage. It combines the benefits of a moisturizer, pore-minimizing primer, foundation and sunscreen (SPF 15) to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
So, what makes it different to any other BB Cream that I have tried in the past? Firstly, it makes my skin look fantastic – it evens out my skin tone, offers an impressively good amount of coverage and it lasts well throughout the day, I also really like that it leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I despise matte-looking skin and much rather like fresh and dewy skin, which this BB Cream helps create effortlessly.
Best of all is just how little you need of this product to get the job done. I am so used to having to squirt a certain amount of product out, in order to give my skin the coverage that I want, but you really need so little of this as it spreads out easily, so it took a lot of adjusting, when adopting the Sorbet BB Cream into my makeup routine.
My only doubt in this product is that I use the shade Light 01, which works well for my skin tone but bearing in mind that I am not THAT light, I worry that it might be too dark for anyone with a lighter complexion than mine. Same could be said for those with a much darker complexion – unfortunately, a limited shade range is a universal problem for all BB Creams.
The Sorbet BB Cream retails for around R99 which is outstanding value for money and is such a hit that I have picked up a few to add to our Christmas stockings, this year. (It helps that Clicks has a buy 2, get 1 for free!)
