13 Nov My Eyeshadow Palette Wishlist
If you’ve been following my blog for a minute, you’ll know that my biggest weakness is eyeshadow palettes. I love the convenience of them and especially like how the colours are usually organized in a way to compliment one another, working to encourage your creativity while also being somewhat failproof.
I recently did a massive palette clean out to make way for some new additions and thought that while I am at it, I’d share a few palettes that I currently have my eye on.
Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Eyeshadow
This one should come as no surprise as it’s been on my wishlist since Urban Decay first announced the palette. I love warm-shades – they make my brown eyes pop, but I especially love that almost all the reviews that I have read and watched on this palette noted that while there are hundreds of warm-toned palettes, there is nothing quite like this specific one. In addition, when I was busy compiling my birthday wishlist for Lydia (who is actually buying this palette for me) everyone that I had spoken to about Urban Decay said that The Naked Heat palette ranked in their top 3 picks from the brand. Needless to say – I must will have it.
The Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette
I didn’t know who Jaclyn Hill was until I kept seeing this palette popping up and while I still don’t care much for her videos, I can’t deny that she’s done an outstanding job creating a gorgeous palette. The palette took 2 years to create and offers 35 jaw-dropping shades, somehow offering a good balance of mattes, shimmers, satins, foils, and glitter. The weirdest thing about this palette, to me, is that I never wear blue eyeshadow but all I want from life is to cover my lids in that vibrant blue shadow! Overall, I feel like this is a palette that just keeps giving and one that I’d love to add to my collection.
Huda Beauty’s Desert Dusk Palette
Flip guys, Huda, though – this girl is goals! I have such a girl crush on her and the empire that she has managed to build that I would do anything to roll in her incredible collection of products. As much as I’d like everything from her range, my bank account says no! However, I might (read: probably will) make an exception and purchase her latest addition, the Desert Dusk palette. I am still licking my wounds that I missed out on her last palette, so really don’t want to skip out on the chance of getting this one. In fact, the Desert Dusk palette is right up my alley and offers a beautiful collection of warm-toned shadows, with a few mauvey and purple tones, too. Best of all, she didn’t slack on offering a variety of textures, including her infamous duo-chrome toppers.
ColourPop’s Element of Surprise and You had me at Hello Palettes
By now, you probably know that one of my best discoveries all year has been the beauty that is ColourPop’s pressed powder eyeshadow palettes, but flip, they’re releasing them so quickly that I can’t keep up! Right now, I own all 4 of their earlier releases including the gorgeous My Little Pony palette but earlier this month, they dropped a bombshell and launched an additional 2 palettes called Element of Surprise and You had me at Hello (there were a further 2 palettes added which formed part of their Sephora launch, but they’re not in the traditional 16-pan layout, which I prefer). Needless to say, I am keeping my eye out for the first local reseller to get stock of these two palettes so that I can add them to my collection because I can’t stop and won’t stop. Element of Surprise has a pop of pink at the centre which already has me picturing all sorts of looks to create. You had me at Hello is a more toned-down palette and one that I’d be comfortable going away for a month and only taking along this palette as the shades are easy to use, complimentary, and great to create a variety of looks.
ZOEVA Matte Spectrum Palette
I have only heard nice things about ZOEVA’s eyeshadow palettes and after browsing through a few of her offerings, I settled on the Matte Spectrum Palette as it is the one that makes the most sense for me. I don’t have a whole lot of matte shadows and I really don’t have many colourful palettes, so I feel like this is a palette that makes up for everything that I am missing from my current collection.
And that wraps up my list of palettes that I am currently eyeing out. I am sure that by the time I publish this post, I would have added at least another 5, but I thought I’d hold back and save some for the next list – would you like to see more wishlist posts, like this one?
