Avène Thermal Spring Water - By Megan KellyRecently,  Rubybox had a review club to try Avène’s Thermal Spring Water and having only just discovered the Avène brand offering, I was keen like a bean! The Avène Thermal Spring Water is said to be an entirely new innovation in skin care, promising to immediately soothe sensitive and irritated skin. Impressively, the brand claims to sell one every two seconds, worldwide!

So, why does Avène Thermal Spring Water have everyone talking?

The gentle spray is used to refresh and soothe skin, with its properties which originate as pure rain mixed with sea-spray that is rich in mineral salts. Through its journey, it becomes infused with trace elements, silicates, and the ancient microorganism Aqua Dolomiae. The result is a calming spray that can be used on all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone, while offering a variety of uses.

It is recommended that you add hydration right back to your skin, after cleansing it, by spraying your face with a microfine mist. Avène Thermal Spring Water helps to calm, soften and soothe irritated skin, and by using the spray daily, you can help boost hydration, resulting in healthy looking skin, free of inflammation.

What can you use Avène Thermal Spring Water for?

Probably most impressively is just how many uses this little guy packs, so it isn’t any wonder why it has very quickly become such a must-have product.

Uses include:

  • Priming and preparing skin for makeup
  • Setting makeup
  • Nappy Rash
  • Sunburn
  • Damaged or wounded skin
  • After shaving
  • Allergic reactions
  • Problematic skin resulting in redness, itching, or dryness
  • Freshening up skin during travel or after gym

My experience…

The micro-light mist is a convenient product to keep in your handbag, nappy bag, and beauty cabinet. It just helps to soothe and gently calm irritable skin, and I had found it to be especially helpful during the peak of a hormonal breakout. I also like how it sets my makeup – it just seems to sit better on the surface of my skin, adding a fresh dewy look instead of the usual flat, matte look that I am prone to seeing. I found it particularly interesting that this product can also be used as a nappy rash soother as I personally don’t like the feeling or texture of barrier creams, so can imagine this to be quite refreshing on baby’s skin.

Avène Thermal Spring Water is available at Dis-chem stores, nationwide. If you’re also keen on trying and reviewing new beauty products too, then be sure to sign up as a Rubybox member (it’s completely free!).
