03 Feb [CLOSED] Giveaway + Valentine’s Inspired Makeup with Revlon
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Revlon and I have partnered up to create a pretty and simple date night look that takes less that 10 minutes to recreate! The look was inspired by the current pink-eye (not the infection) trend that has been seen on the red carpet, this award season, and features soft romantic hues of pink throughout.
I start off by applying my Revlon PhotoReady Foundation (shade: 006 Medium Beige), which offers full coverage when applied with a foundation brush. I really didn’t expect to like this foundation’s formula as much as I do, but the coverage is just so flawless, that it is hard not to love it! Admittedly this particular shade is a little too dark but it is a great match for when I have a tan. If you’re prone to oily skin, try using the new Revlon ColorStay Pressed powder (shade: Nude) to set your foundation and increase its longevity.
For this look, I really wanted my skin to have a soft, glowy hue so opted for an unconventional route. Instead of using my usual powder blush, I chose to get creative and used my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain (shade: Honey). I drew a small line on each cheek, before blending it in with my fingertips. The friction of my fingertips rubbing against the lip stain makes it warm, which causes the formula to melt into the skin, giving it a light sheer stain – perfect for dewy cheeks. I warmed up my face and gave it a bit of shape with a light contour, and lastly, used Revlon’s Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick (shade: 210 Gold Light) to highlight the tops of my cheeks.
For my eyes, I wanted to keep with the glowy and romantic hues so used my fingertips to apply the Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick (shade: 200 Pink Light). To add emphasis to the crease I grabbed my trusty Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain (shade: Honey) and drew in the center of my crease, before blending it out with a crease brush.
To wrap up my eye look, I created a wing eye using Revlon’s ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner, which gives you good control on how thick or thin you’d like to make your eyeliner. The formula is highly pigmented, smoothe to apply and long lasting while the brush is flexible, giving you freedom to create gorgeous lines. For my lashes, I chose to use 2 of Revlon’s mascaras; on the top lashes, I used the Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara and for the bottom, I wanted to create more defined lashes that were still voluminous (bearing in mind that I am not using eyeliner on the bottom lid, so wanted dramatic lashes) I chose Revlon’s Ultimate All-in-One Mascara.
To complete the look, I chose a bold lip colour that still sticks to the romantic pink hues that I have chosen to use throughout the look. I created a light ombre lip that makes my lips appear a little bigger, by roughly lining my lips with Revlon’s Ultra HD Lip Color (shade: Addiction) and leaving just the very center of the bottom lip unfilled, before puckering my lips together. The puckering motion blends the lipstick, and where there isn’t any lipstick on the bottom lip, the colour transfers lightly, giving it a ombre illusion.
And that’s my 10-minute Valentine’s Day makeup look. What did you think of this makeup look? Will you be giving it a try?
