09 Sep [#365BeautyTips] My Birthday Wishlist
The thirty- fifth week of #365BeautyTips has come to an end and as promised, I have put together a round-up post which puts all the beauty tips, shared this week, in one place. The idea is to share any extra information and answer the questions that you may have asked on my social media posts. Remember that if you want to stay up to date with my 365 days of beauty challenge, then follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
THIS WEEK’S THEME IS…
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 246
This year has really been the year of Revlon stealing my heart and of course, I am kicking my wishlist off with their limited edition InstaFix Highlighting Stick. I am actually being cheeky because I have already stocked up on both shades, but haven’t had the chance of playing with them just yet, so figured they’d be great for my wishlist (everyone needs a little highlight). Earlier last month, Revlon announced their mistake proof contouring duo which features their PhotoReady Insta-Fix Makeup for contouring, and a glorious PhotoReady Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick for highlighting. I have only swatched them (I am saving them for my cake-day!) but both shades are perfectly pigmented, light weight and of course, pack a stunning highlight that you can’t ignore. Be sure to stock up on this duo, in fact, get 2 sets so that you can have a pink and gold highlight, perfect for EVERY occasion.

I have NEVER tried a Benefit product. I know … the shame! Don’t judge me though, they still haven’t popped up with a PE counter. Thank goodness for online stores because I have been oogling this Benefit set from RedSquare called ‘Full Brows Ahead’. It should really come as no surprise that I am gaga about brows, so when Benefit (the connoisseurs of gorgeously proportioned brows) announced an entire range dedicated to brows, well… I did more than just raise a brow. I figured this set is perfect for my birthday wishlist, as I can get the full Benefit experience for only R380. The kit features their BROWVO! conditioning primer, Precisely, my brow pencil and High-brow pencil. It also boasts their signature Tips & Tricks and custom mapping tool to help you create the ideal brow shape for your face. EEEEK! This is one that I can’t resist.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 248
I mean Nude Dude. Need I say more? I only recently stumbled upon Retailbox’s mad offering of The Balm Products, and yes, while there has been a recent announcement of The Balm becoming more available to us mere mortals, Retailbox still stands out with their personal service and of course, online convenience… duh! Okay, but really! I haven’t given The Balm a proper try yet, and as we already know, I cannot say no to another Nude Palette, especially not this one! I am just going to say that if I don’t manage to get me one for my cake-day, I am definitely writing a strong-worded letter to Santa to include this in my stocking. I have also accepted that 90% of the reason for wanting to start stocking up on The Balm, is for their gorgeous packaging.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 249
I know, you’ve seen this before. But seriously, My Burberry is still one of my favourite samples of all time and it’s on this list because I haven’t been able to get my hands on my own bottle yet (in other words, I haven’t convinced myself to spend so much on a perfume, but I can dream of one day, right?) I don’t usually wear perfumes and still haven’t settled on my signature scent, but I am convinced that this is definitely THE one. The scent encaptures a walk in a London garden just after the fresh summer rain with sweet, floral notes like sweet peas and citrusy notes of bergamot leading to geranium and freesia flowers. The fragrance has a lasting patchouli scent with an undeniable hint of rose.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 250
Yesterday’s feature was a bit out of my budget, so let’s chat about the new Garnier Micellar water infused with oil. I have tried both of Garnier’s previous offerings and might have already featured them too. I love how affordable their Micellar water is especially compared to others on the market, PLUS they aren’t stingy and have a MASSIVE bottle of the stuff. So when I saw the oil infused variant I was like, “take my money now!” In fact, the only reason I haven’t thrown my money at it, is because I haven’t seen it in stores just yet. But with my birthday fast approaching, I sense an inevitable stop at Dis-Chem and I am fully committed to giving this bad boy a go. So if you’re wondering why I am SO damn excited about this, WELL… Garnier’s Micellar water is great! But removing stubborn eye makeup does often require some baby oil. BAM! Garnier heard our water-proof cries and formulated their Micellar water with nourishing oils. The micelles (cleansing agents) capture impurities like a magnet & lift away dirt from the skin, whilst the oils instantly dissolve all types of make-up. I cannot wait to try this!

Is it even a birthday without a little lipstick? I saw this picture doing the rounds on Twitter and was like, “be still my beating heart.” THAT packaging, though? Rimmel and Kate Moss are celebrating their 15-year partnership with an exquisite range of lippies and nail polishes. I am not worried too much about nails, but as for the lips… ermagherd! As always, Rimmel promises a range that offers richly-saturated, luminous colour, with a full-impact formula. The range of lipsticks is made up of three red and three nude shades. I obviously need them all right now. Nope, not even willing to wait until my birthday.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 252
Again, this one is a cheeky wishlist item as I have already purchased it, just a few weeks ago, while it was on sale but we were in the midst of packing, so I haven’t played with it yet! To be very honest, the only thing that had stopped me from getting the Flash Palette from Swiitch Beauty sooner, was that I had expected to pay an arm and a leg. When I saw it was on sale, curiosity got the better of me and I checked the store out, shocked to find it was only R250! This is usually higher than my typical beauty buy, but if used correctly, this is your complete beauty arsenal in one palette. The cream pigments are mixed together to create an infinite amount of shades, that are used for lipsticks, cream shadows, blushes, liners, foundations and more. With over 30 uses and the ability to create any color by mixing the pigments to suit your likes, I can’t believe this hasn’t already sold out ? Available from swiitchbeauty.com
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
