The thirty- first week of #365BeautyTips has come to an end and as promised, I have put together a round-up post which puts all the beauty tips, shared this week, in one place. The idea is to share any extra information and answer the questions that you may have asked on my social media posts. Remember that if you want to stay up to date with my 365 days of beauty challenge, then follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
THIS WEEK’S THEME IS…
A little while ago, I had shared all about my new online discovery, Shop Miss A, an American-based store that sells cosmetics, jewellery, stationery, and accessories for only $1 (which is just short of R14). I broke down exactly how I shipped it to SA, the costs involved and whether it was worth my while over here. This week, I thought I’d share some of my purchases and which ones I liked the most.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 218
One of my top finds from Miss A is this bronzer and blusher from BR Cosmetics. The Face and Body bronzer in 2- Golden Sunshine has the slightest hint of shimmer, with a gorgeous glowy tanned tone. I have always struggled to find a good bronzer, and my limited edition one from CATRICE’s Illumination range has just finished. This one has a nice balance of darker and lighter bronzed tones, so you can control it from looking too dark. I literally just take my brush and rub it all over the beautiful embossed hearts, giving my contour a warm glow.
The pretty mosaic blush in the shade 1 – Soft Pink, has a combination of highlighters, a yellow to break the pink and two different pink tones. I love that the pink is mixed with a highlighter, giving your cheeks that naturally, dewy look that we all adore especially for spring makeup. The packaging is sturdy, the product pigmented, there is no scent and of course, another mention for the cute embossed hearts in both pieces.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 219
These canvas statement pouches are probably the main reason I placed a second order before the first had even arrived from Miss A. I’m pretty sure there are about 10-12 designs and it took me everything not to order them all! But I settled on just these two. The pouches are a lot bigger than I had anticipated, perfect for storing your makeup for a weekend away. They’re durable, easy to wash and wonderful for all your beauty necessities 😍
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 220
Another amazing find from my $1 haul are these Madly Matte Liquid Lipsticks from Kleancolor. These are very similar to the consistency of the Essence Velvet Matte range, only they dry and last a little longer. Of course, with cheap lipstick I expected a horrible scent, but this isn’t the case at all! These have a slight vanillary scent, wear comfortably and provide insane pigment. For $1, it is tempting to purchase the entire range which just so happens to be VERY extensive featuring everything from lilacs, blues, reds, pinks and more!
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 221
I have been looking for a new brow pencil and really thought, what’s there to lose? I’m seriously surprised by how much I’m enjoying this one from KleanColor and have opted to keep it in my handbag for quick brow fixes. Besides the product being amazing to work with, I really like the tri-grip, similar to those old school plastic things that our parents would put on our pens, if we didn’t know how to hold a pen correctly. The tri-grip just gives you a better hold on, while the product works through the brows without creating that unsightly build-up or unevenness.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 222
Let’s talk about cheeks! I’m having a bit of a blush moment and love that I stocked up on some goodies from my $1 haul. The 2 on the left are from Ms. Chick’s in the shade Guava and Tangerine. Since taking these photos, I’ve also received another 2 and am SO glad that I stocked up. The packaging is gorgeously cute, very similar to Maybelline’s Bouncy Blushes. On the right, is the 4 Color Matte Blush Set in color 2. I didn’t think to read the description and thought that these would be cream blushes, but they’re matte powder. In fact, all of the blushes pictured are matte, highly pigmented and offer rosy cheeks for a glowing complexion that lasts all day, great for the upcoming spring season
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 223
I really was set on trying as many ELF products as I could get my hands on, and while most were out of stock, I was glad to find this Facial Whip in Golden Peach still available. This product is exceptionally versatile and can used as a highlighter on the tops of your cheek, or added to foundation and lastly can be applied to your face before applying foundation for a more glowy look. I think that there are 6 shades in total and feel that the white or pink shade would be more ideal for my skin tone and foundation. However, I’m very interested in seeing how Golden Peach looks in Summer with a tan. I really wish that I could get my hands on more of their affordable products.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 224
Last on my list of things to love from my $1 haul is this palette from KleanColor which features 24 shades. Some are matte, some are shimmery but all are buttery and smoothe. There’s a few different variations of the palette that range from brights to wearable nudes, but I wanted one that offered versatility especially in the midst of season changes. I’m the hugest fan of the purple shade in the bottom right corner – soo gorgeous. Want to see a tutorial with this palette?
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
