This week’s #365BeautyTips features fellow Eastern Cape Beauty & Lifestyle Blogger, Miriam Maulana from New Kid On The Block. She has a love for beauty, skincare, food, sugar, spice and everything nice, so uses blogging to share her thoughts and feelings with her virtual friends.
“I’ve suffered from acne for as long as I can remember and since high school I’ve made it my mission to find skin care products that work for me and my skin. This week, I am sharing only a couple of the products that have been my saving grace. These products have not only changed my skin but have also changed the way I feel, my view of myself and frankly my life. I can finally go out without any makeup and not feel self-conscious. I am not that insecure little girl anymore. ”
Follow, Stalk and Like Miriam on her social media accounts, and do yourself a favour and give yourself a break from my disgusting photography by heading to her blog and appreciate this girl’s eye for design.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 183
My Witch Hazel and Rosewater Toner had been one of the best to happen to my skin. Witch hazel is an effective, gentle, and natural way to treat acne or oily skin. is an astringent. Astringents, in a nutshell, suck toxins and dirt from your pores. This toner is seriously so gentle and one of the only ones I have ever used that calms my skin down. It refreshes, shrinks pores and is a great last step that ensures I have removed everything off of my face.

Hi, I’m Miriam and I am an advocate for natural beauty. Natural beauty products have changed my skin and possibly my life and for that reason, I am truly grateful. One of the most important steps on my skin care routine is moisturising. Drying out oily prone skin will lead to breaking out. Your skin will try and counter the dryness by increasing its production of oil. Jojoba oil has really changed the way my skin feels and looks. I use as a base before adding essential oils to the mix to make what I use as a moisturiser.

OMW the Freeman beauty masks are the best and this one has to be the best for people with oily, acne-prone skin. If you’re prone to acne break outs and your skin melts of your face by the end of the day then this Mint, Lemon and Clay Mask will be the best thing you ever buy. This lemony cool clay mask delivers relief from inflammation caused by breakouts. Clays absorb oils to minimise shine and large pores. Mint and Lemon cool and refresh. The perfect remedy for acne prone skin for breakout prone and oily skin.

Manuka honey is the rolls Royce of skin care. I have been using natural honey to wash my face for three years now and my skin is so clear you could never guess I used to have acne. Recently I discovered and the courage to try using the Good Things Manuka Honey face cream and I was impressed. It’s a creamy cleanser which means it will not dry out your skin.
The royal jelly in the Good Things Creamy Cleanser is a power hormonal tonic which will help with hormonal imbalances that may be causing your acne, dryness, oiliness or just causing your skin to look dull.

Essential oils should be on every women’s beauty chest. Essentials oils will change your life and your beauty routine. I can’t say which of these two I love best because they both do such an amazing job for my skin. The lavender oil is calming, soothing and generally relaxing. if you add a couple of drops to the tub after a long day you’ll feel so relaxed. It even helps with headaches and insomnia.

Come what may, you should never go to bed with makeup on. We have such a hectic days and sometimes going through with your full face routine could be the biggest task of the day. You just want to curl in bed and do nothing. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing water is such a God Send. It makes taking off your makeup after a long day so easy. You don’t even need to moisturise after. I have sensitive acne prone skin and I never have to worry about breaking out after using this.

This is different from the above but since it’s winter I had to include it. Ladies, it is important to take good care of your skin, think about it. You are going to be in it till the day you die. Palmer’s products are amazing and this moisturising oil is my favourite skin care item this winter. I use this moisturising oil soon as I step out of the shower in the morning whilst I am still wet to help lock in moisture and my skin has been loving me for it.
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
