#BMKBucketList: I want to share YOUR story!

Guest Post Body Positive - By Megan Kelly

You may have caught drift of this post, at the end of yesterday’s body positive update. As much as the #BMKBucketList challenge is my own self-love journey, I want to start sharing YOUR stories and hopefully create a movement of women who are empowering one another through their experiences.

Self-love is no small fleet but having a group of friends who support your journey and feed into your motivation, sure makes it worth it. I often wonder how much closer I would be to accepting my body, had I seen more people like me in the pages of glossy magazines. So, we’re going to do something different, but I need YOUR help!

I’d like to feature your stories every second week, in an interview-style series. You don’t have to be a certain weight, size or shape, I just need YOU! You can be at the very beginning of learning to accept your body. Hell, you might not have even started yet. But that’s okay! I have a few quick questions that will feature on the blog, with a picture of you!

All my questions will be body-positive related and if you’d like to share a little more than just the answers to my questions – great! Tell me why you feel self-love is so important, your view on society and why you think we need more campaigns like this.

Now, you might be thinking, “Oh she’s not really talking about me – is she?” Well yes, yes I am. I am looking for every woman. That’s you, you and even YOU! I want to feature my mom, sister, personal trainer, best friend and the random woman crossing the road. Why? I hear you ask. Well, I want my readers to find at least one other woman who’s story they identify with.

Remember, we’re all about motivating, encouraging and empowering each other through our experiences. There is no wrong way to love your body and I want to show the next person that you don’t have to be limited by your differences. That you’re not too skinny or too fat, too short or too tall, too muscular or too flabby… I want all women! I want YOU!

Keen? Good, me too! Just send me an email (editor[at]bymegankelly[dot]co[dot]za) that you’d like to be part of the guest series, and I will send over the questions. Once I get them back, I will add you to the schedule and feature your story! YAY! Maybe you can nominate a friend to take part too?

I am Megan Kelly, the creator behind By Megan Kelly, mom of two boys, named Axl and Eli, and local business owner providing digital marketing solutions. I live on copious amounts of coffee, can be bribed with chocolate and will never admit to having too much makeup – although, I probably do.
