The twenty-first week of #365BeautyTips has come to an end and as promised, I have put together a round-up post which puts all the beauty tips, shared this week, in one place. The idea is to share any extra information and answer the questions that you may have asked on my social media posts. Remember that if you want to stay up to date with my 365 days of beauty challenge, then follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 148
This week, I decided to go free of a theme as I just wanted to share my beauty finds and a few odd bits that didn’t really go with any of the themes that I had floating around in my head. Admittedly, not having a theme makes me sort of lazy towards the challenge and I didn’t have as much fun. To start the week, I thought I’d share a new tutorial (I know, I know – I haven’t done one in FOREVER!) but I had so much fun editing this one that I definitely think it is something that I am going to do more often. I created this look with a step by step guide and I shared some of my hero products, unexpected lip combos and more, over here.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 149
I have been waking up with really dry lips lately, thanks to the chill in the air. So I have been reaching for thIS gems from the Darling Jane’s Range. I love their gorgeous packaging and attention to detail, not to mention the lack of nasties in their natural product which still strive for that luxury experience with their range. I did feature the lip scrub earlier last week, but am even more crazy about it now that it is saving my lips from looking and feeling like sand paper (especially when I wear liquid lipstick). Their lip balm, in peppermint, is quite strong but one of my favourite scents is mint, so I lovvvvvve it! Also, I don’t find it nearly as watery or oily as other natural lip products that I’ve tried. In fact, this is quite solid and needs the warm temperature of your skin to apply properly. All in all, both are great products, especially to avoid winter lips
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 150
I happened to rediscovered my love for Palmer’s Coconut Oil Haircare Range and am back to using their Strong Roots spray after every wash. Much like everything, my scalp is really dry and itchy, during the change of season. After showering, I opened my drawer and caught sight of this goodie which helps soothe the scalp with the natural moisturising ability of coconut oil. The scent has a hint of menthol which is probably why it has such an amazing cooling effect, the smell lingers and keeps hair smelling fresh while keeping the scratchy feeling away.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 151
I had just mentioned this new launch from Revlon South Africa in my 90’s Grunge tutorial but I don’t think it got the attention it really deserves. Revlon is slaying this year, first their new range of mascaras and now, a range of foundation products. In the past, I couldn’t stand powder foundation and always found that it would only highlight my dry patches or make my foundation look crumby and thick. But Revlon’s ColourStay pressed powder foundation has completely changed powder foundation, smoothing skin out and giving it a gorgeous porcelain look. I love that it doesn’t dry out my skin, sets my liquid foundation and works so gorgeously well without that ugly orange hue that I’m so used to with powders. It almost refines the skin and gives it a “beautify” filter. Yep, I just said it. I’m crazy about this product and now have an itch to try out their other launches including the 2-in-1 concealer and foundation, have you tried that yet??
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 152
It still sorta surprises me how far I’ve gotten in posting every single day, here’s to another 150-odd posts. You might have seen my delivery from Takealot earlier this week, and I would be a fool not to share the sheer beauty of this nail polish from Essence in the shade 33-Rose Beats, part of their I💗Metals collection. Nothing quite like a quick pick me up and a new set of rose-gold claws 😉
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 153
This baby is almost finished but let me tell you, Elizabeth Arden’s All Gone makeup remover changed everything that I thought I knew about makeup remover. I never had to use a cloth or cotton wool and only use my finger tips to gently massage the oil around my face in circular motions. Makeup just melts off with the greatest ease EVEN waterproof eye makeup and the most stubborn lippies. I love how gentle the formula is on my skin and that I don’t have to scrub tough-to-get-off makeup from my face. I will go as far as saying that this has without a doubt converted me from a wipes and go kind of girl, to a makeup remover kind of girl, that’s a lot considering that at night the last thing I care to do is remove makeup (I sort of just want to curl up and pass out next to the toddler). #365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 154
Liquid lipstick has been hitting the shelves of more and more brands and there’s no denying they’re every handbags best essential, but usually they come with a hefty little price tag. I prefer a more affordable favourite so that stocking up on every shade won’t cost me lunch for the next month. Liquid lipstick has become exceedingly popular as it unites the best of two lip pros by combining the coverage of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. I thought I’d share these gems from Essence (my mini collection that’s about to grow a tiny bit 😉) Lately, I have been enjoying the nude shade which is more of a light brown (think melted milk chocolate) but I also like the other 2 for a quick pop of colour Although very glossy, the colour is vibrant and full of rich pigment. Thankfully, the formula isn’t as sticky or thick as I had expected and wears pretty well. Lovely and affordable find.
Remember that, I am moving my #365BeautyTips roundup posts to Friday instead of Wednesday. It just seems better as Friday’s are also the day that I announce my new theme so I will be changing the schedule up a little and that way announce the new theme in each post. So keep an eye out for Friday’s Kitchen to Beauty post.
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
