The twenteenth week of #365BeautyTips has come to an end and as promised, I have put together a round-up post which puts all the beauty tips, shared this week, in one place. The idea is to share any extra information and answer the questions that you may have asked on my social media posts. Remember that if you want to stay up to date with my 365 days of beauty challenge, then follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
THIS WEEK’S THEME IS… TIME OUT
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 140
Winter means dry and cracked lips and with my undying love for matte lipsticks, chapped lips just won’t do. Using a gentle lip exfoliator at least 2-3 times a week ensures smoother lips, better lipstick application and no painful cracks! Darling Jane sent this lovely lip scrub which is choc-mint flavour! The brand encourages the use of only the best natural ingredients, all while not compromising on luxury and quality, to leave you with happy and healthy skin. This is a sugar scrub, made with a combination of oils which help restore moisture while the peppermint oil also plumps lips, giving you vavavavoom lips for gorgeous lipstick application. You MUST head on over to their online store and try a few of their products, especially in time for winter.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 141
When I have the time to relax, I like treating my hair with a special hair mask. With it being winter and my hair feeling coarse, looking flat and just being all-round… Bleh, it could really do with some intense TLC so of course I opted for Dove‘s Intensive Repair Hair Mask. This is such a treat – it smells absolutely sublime and the formula works to deeply nourish and help repair even the most damaged hair. If you want to know more about this range, I have reviewed all the products recently over here.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 142
I may not actually get to take a holiday all that often, but this little tube of wonderfulness sure makes me look like I have. One of the biggest issues I had before starting my skin journey was that it was kind of hard not to notice the luggage I was carrying under my eyes (see the photo I posted here). Since my last eye cream was discontinued, I’ve been struggling to find a formula that helps with the discoloration, while reducing the noticable puffiness that came along with motherhood. The multi-vitamin power firm eye cream, from Dermalogica South Africa, smells like a bowl of freshly cut berries but boasts a formula that improves elasticity to helps combat lines around the eye area. It also works to accelerate the skin’s natural repair process with a combination of Vitamin A (Retinol) as antioxidant, vitamins C and E which, as mentioned, increases elasticity while scavenging free radicals.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 143
Lipidol is very easily creeping into my favourites pile. From the same people who bring you the infamous Bio-Oil, Lipidol offers a range of skincare and bodycare oils that protect the skin’s natural oily layer. Instead of stripping away the moisture like most cleansers, this Cleansing Body Oil removes dirt, leaving skin feeling softer even through the harshness of winter. Admittedly, I am not too fond of the scent but that’s because I like the scent of sweet things and this is a little more musky than I’d usually like, but the effective and soapy lather makes up for that, not too mention restoring my skin to being much softer and smoother.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 144
I absolutely love sugar scrubs ESPECIALLY in winter as they’re so great for removing dry skin and leaving it looking and feeling healthier and softer. Darling Jane also sent over their Coffee Sugar Scrub. Did you know that caffeine works to tighten the skin, reduces cellulite, swelling and inflammation? Caffeine is also full of antioxidants which helps fight wrinkles, sun spots and lines. This and many more of their products has very quickly crawled into my heart with a delightful range of natural, luxury products that target skin conditions and leave you feeling (and smelling) amazing!
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 145
Lately, the kiddo falls asleep at 7:30pm and will wake up at 11pm just after I finished work. So instead of worrying about what time we will actually be getting to bed, I run us a bath and soak up some of LUSH South Africa‘s infamous Granny Takes a Dip, which I recently ordered. Sadly all my ballistics were broken thanks to an uncaring courier but this one survived so we will bask in all its beauty and soak up the psychedelic pepper, ginger and lemon scented bubble bar before attempting to wrangle the toddler in for bed. I literally live for his excitement when he drops one of these gems in our bath. He curls his little fists up and screams, “BATH!!!” Before stomping and dancing around nagging me to put him in already.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 146
Lastly, on the list are my new polishes from Revlon. I find painting my nails somewhat therapeutic and love taking out a few minutes during the week to splash on a new mani. I’ve been gushing on about Revlon’s Gel Envy top coat for the longest of time and no matter what nail polish I use, I always find myself using the top coat to seal mani, as I just find anything and everything lasts longer and wears better when you combine it with their top coat. That being said, I’m interested to see what happens when I combine both their colour and top coat from the range – will it be love at first try, I’ll let you know in an upcoming post. ;)
As a little side note, I will be moving my #365BeautyTips roundup posts to Friday instead of Wednesday. It just seems better as Friday’s are also the day that I announce my new theme so I will be changing the schedule up a littleand that way announce the new theme in each post – what do you think?
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
