The twelfth week of #365BeautyTips has come to an end and as promised, I have put together a round-up post which puts all the beauty tips, shared this week, in one place. The idea is to share any extra information and answer the questions that you may have asked on my social media posts. Remember that if you want to stay up to date with my 365 days of beauty challenge, then follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
This week’s theme is… Winter Must-Haves
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 84
Last year, my skin had a really bad reaction to the exfoliator from Caribbean Tan SA but I thought that I would give it another go because if anything, the scent is absolutely amazing (coconut and cinnamon). This time (and many others to follow), my skin behaved itself and I got to fall head over heels for yet another sugar-scrub. The rough scrub helps remove dead-skin cells while the generous amount of oil leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smoother than ever. This scrub may be excellent to prepare your skin for a self-tan, but it’s also a gem during winter, saving you from the dreaded winter skin.

I have NO idea where I originally got this jar of Bee Natural, but have found it soooo useful and can only imagine that the nourishing (and healing) formula will really be beneficial during the cooler months. Bee Natural is a 100% Body & Healing Balm made with non-irradiated pollen enriched honey, beeswax & propolis. It surprisingly packs so many uses that include healing cracked heel & elbows, spider bites, boils, pimples, athlete’s foot, sunburn, itchy bites, hand & cuticle cream and loads more. The scent is light while the formula is thick and hydrating – I love how it instantly restores the lost moisture and soothes your skin from any dry patches or general itchiness.

Nip+Fab continues to shine with their outstanding skincare and I especially love their Bee Sting Fix range and while the eye cream wasn’t for me (it made my eyes itch) I really love these two products (so much so that I have featured them previously) and have made repurchases, especially for the cooler, drier months. The Lifting Mask is a transparent gel-like mask that can be thickly applied and rinsed off after 10 minutes, or if you’re looking for a little extra TLC you could apply a thin layer and leave it on over-night. Besides plumping the skin, I have also noticed that my skin looks and feel rejuvenated and soft. As for the Cream Deluxe – just do yourself the favour and get it. You’re welcome. No, seriously, this cream has the thickness of most body butter and is the epitome of indulging moisturisers. The scent is a gentle hint of sweetness which I guess is a play on honey because you know…bees.

I am pretty sure that I also shared this in a post last year, but I still find myself reaching for it! The Essence South Africa nail caring oil is great for hydrating your dried cuticles, encouraging nail growth and softer hands. The quick and easy nail caring oil offer the same concept as your old-school nail removers, where a sponge is soaked in the formula (in this case, almond oil) you stick a finger in, turn it and wa-lah! I really like how nourishing the oil is, especially after doing dishes or facing the harsh elements of winter. It has just the slightest scent of almond and with the packaging I never spill or waste my nail oil!

I picked up this Hot Toddy Warm Body soap at a guesthouse that we stayed at, in Wilderness, a VERY long time ago. But while sorting through samples earlier this week, I decided to pop it in my shower and boy, am I glad that I did. The smell is intoxicating and lives up to its name of being a Hot Toddy for your whole body! I crave the scent of cinnamon and this gem leaves my skin and bathroom smelling of the sweet and spicy aroma all while leaving you feeling energized. The combination of ingredients is a good antiseptic and helps when your body is feeling tired and sore or better yet when you have the flu and are experiencing chills and body aches. I managed to track down the supplier on Facebook, so give their page a like and take a look at their affordable and local range: Ruby Soul Psychedelicatessen

If it is one product that has become my winter BFF, it’s this guy from Letibalm. While it may look like a lip balm, Letibalm helps restore hydration and reduces redness that usually accompanies the common cold. The formula is a thick balm, which smells like candy, that slowly absorbs while soothing sensitivity caused by dryness and cracks.
#365BEAUTYTIPS – DAY: 90
I thought I would wrap up the winter must-haves with one of my favourite shades of nail polish from Essence South Africa in 53- Rock My World. It’s really dark gray, similar to a gun metal. I feel that gray is such an underrated colour and love trying different shades of gray – but this one is the perfect match for the cooler seasons. I paired the polish with their Triple Care polish as a base coat which has helped restore and strengthen my nails.
And that is a wrap on the last 7 days. Whoop-Whoop! Remember that I love any feedback – what have you enjoyed seeing, what would you like to see more of and perhaps if you have any suggestions, questions or products you would like me to chat more about. I really enjoyed the themed days – what themes would you like to see next?
