Gosh Cosmetics has been on my radar for a little while now and they’re definitely dominating my Christmas wishlist. I haven’t had the opportunity of giving many of their products a whirl but they’ve just put up a new stand in Edgars at Baywest which will be changing that very soon. I won their eyeshadow palette in the variant “Vegas”, recently, and thought that I would share my first impressions, swatches and maybe even some inspired looks that I plan on trying soon.
I don’t know whether it’s the sleek matte black case, with bold shiny lettering or if it is the packaging that just seems sturdier, but this eye shadow pallete is oozing quality, while looking chic. The case conveniently includes a mirror, on the inside, and packs 9 stunning shades of brightly coloured shadows. Honestly, these are colours that I wouldn’t usually buy out of my own, as I always opt for neutrals, purples and colours that are “safe”, but there is no denying that this palette has given me all sorts of inspiration for summer. The palette includes a nice mix of matte and shimmer. When applied, the shadow is a great blend of creaminess, making for easy application.
EEEK – Blue! I have never really worked with blue shadow, on myself, but I am so excited to give it a go. The lightest shade is pearly with lots of shimmer, perfect for the inner most corner of your eyes. The middle shade has a hint of shimmer and is close to a turquoise colour, while the darkest shade is completely matte, which makes for the perfect cobalt blue.
The middle row of the pallete, features a bright summer yellow, followed by two great coral tones. Both the yellow and the darkest coral are matte tones, while the middle shadow has a tiny dash of shimmer. I think that the middle shade is going to be lovely to work with, even though it’s not a colour I would typically opt for, I can picture it being a colour that will compliment a lot of eye colours and skin tones.
The last row of shadows are closer to my comfort zone and are probably the shades that I will use the most. The first two shades are completely matte and will make for a gorgeous pink-spring look, complimented by dewy cheeks and glossy lips. While the last shade is obviously my favourite, with the slightest hint of pearlescent purple, while still keeping to my comfort of neutral tones.
I decided to create a Pinterest board that features some makeup looks that you can recreate with this palette. Take a peek, and let me know on social media which look you’d like me to recreate.
