20 Jul [CLOSED] Tutorial: pinky-gold eyes
As you might already know, I ran into some drama with my lashes when I tried lash extensions for the first time. It really is overrated in the sense that you can’t apply mascara or any makeup without them all sticking to one another and when they fall out, they take your real lashes with them too. Being the type who loves focusing on eye makeup, I decided to trial RapidLash for 6 weeks. The results were incredible, it left me with fuller and longer lashes, ones worthy of showing off. I no longer use the serum daily but do maintain my thick lashes by applying RapidLash 2-3 times a week. For my full review, check here.
I think that I have praised RapidLash enough, so besides giving 2 of my readers their very own RapidLash I decided that I would show you my most recent makeup look, which I did yesterday.
After following my usual brow routine, I used the Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Primer. It’s great to stop your eyeshadow from creasing, makes your colours more vibrant and the application is just a lot smoother and creamier. If you’re an eyeshadow lover, like myself, this is a gem that you need for your makeup bag ASAP.
Next, I use a pale pink eyeshadow focusing on the inner corner of my eye, blending it out towards the middle. I used a pressing motion to try build this colour up, as much as I could as it will need to compete with much darker shades, to still look bright!
I use a copper shade for the middle of my lid, this time blending it with the pink and stretching it out. Try using similar shadows for this step, as you want it to blend out effortlessly to look like an ombre-effect. In other words, don’t choose two completely different shadows or textures, as the change-over will be too exaggerated.
Using a very small detailing brush and a very dark purple eyeshadow, I blended the outter area of my eye. It’s important not to over blend as this can morph all the colours into one big mess. I like the gentle effect of still being able to see the different colours but not being able to tell where it starts and where it ends.
I didn’t want to leave below my eyes bare, so used a tiny brush to add a pop of bright pink. I decided not to line my bottom lids, with the intention of an exaggerated lined lid.
Using Hean’s Hypno Style Eyeliner Pen, I lined the top of my lids.
I recently won Dior’s Addict Mascara which has become a staple part of my eye make-up routine. It took my already thick lashes and defined them with just a single coat!
RapidLash have been so kind to sponsor a prize for two of my readers. You could win your very own RapidLash serum. All you need to do is follow the steps in the Raffle Copter below.
